Ansys technologies are undergoing a revolutionary transformation to support cloud exposure and flexible deployment.
Many of our customers are ready to embrace the Software-as-a-Service (Saas) model to use Ansys simulation applications. Other customers will require an on-prem deployment, meaning on the infrastructure that they control whether it is in their data center or provided by cloud vendors.
Fuji is an ambitious project that aims to provide a comprehensive Kubernetes-based platform designed to deliver applications on-prem for organizations that demand enhanced control and security over their simulation applications and data.
The Fuji platform leverages the power and flexibility of Kubernetes to orchestrate and manage containerized simulation applications across distributed clusters. By utilizing Kubernetes' robust features like automated scaling, workload distribution, and fault tolerance. Fuji enables seamless deployment and efficient resource utilization of Ansys applications on the infrastructure and cloud of the customer.
Fuji emphasizes compatibility with on-premises and private cloud infrastructures, with minimal impact for the application developers. It works on various distributions of Kubernetes providing configurable features of API Gateway, authentication, authorization, observability, and storage management.
The deployment of Fuji is based on the infrastructure-as-Code pattern: as several instances of the platform have been deployed on Azure or AWS. For example, for internal and public hackathons, to provide an external Kubernetes-based sandbox for Ansys developers, to enable development and testing of "Mechanical Assembly" and "Observability as a service" use cases with confidential customer data at Ansys network.
In summary, Fuji presents a unified platform that empowers Ansys to leverage the benefits of containerization and Kubernetes for deploying simulation applications in on-premises and private cloud environments of our customers.
