Meshing is one of the most important steps to generating accurate simulation results in Ansys Mechanical. This presentation will provide in-product demonstrations covering the latest advancements for general Mechanical meshing usage and tips on algorithm and method usage.

General Mechanical meshing features covered will include the quality worksheet to determine mesh validity and suitability for analysis, feature suppress for large scale mesh defeaturing without need for geometry editing, and feature based meshing using the feature detection tool.

Other method and algorithm developments covered will include hex meshing for XYZ aligned geometries, hex dominant meshing for 2.5D geometries, tet meshing for uniform meshing, mesh pull and extrude for creation of 3D meshes from 2D surfaces, and fast and high-quality quad shell meshing.
