Ensuring robust systems security in Avionics Systems is of importance to provide assurance of aircraft operations. This presentation provides an overview of the key processes and modeling method involved in systems security engineering at Astronautics Corporation during the development of avionics systems. The discussion will focus on three primary processes: Vulnerability Management, Security Risk Assessments, and Penetration Testing of avionics systems. More detailed discussion within the purview of the risk assessment process will include the identification and analysis of security requirements and threat modeling via the Ansys Medini tool. These processes, integrated into the development lifecycle, aim to mitigate system weaknesses and vulnerabilities, prevent malicious access, and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of avionics systems in the face of evolving threats.
