Connecting Model-Based Systems Engineering and Digital Mission Engineering
Information
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) has distinct advantages over traditional document-based practices and is quickly being adopted across industries. With an MBSE approach, an overarching systems architect model (SAM) serves as an authoritative source of truth that captures everything important about the system – the requirements, the architecture, and the interfaces between the pieces of the system. Digital Mission Engineering (DME) is the use of digital modeling, simulation, and analysis to incorporate the operational environment and evaluate mission outcomes and effectiveness at every phase of the life cycle.
This presentation will discuss an approach to DME that leverages the SAM to fully realize the benefits of both MBSE and DME and to simulate and evaluate interactions between your models and the common operating environment to predict mission outcomes and performance.
