Using machine learning for designing new materials and processes

Design of new materials and optimization of related processes is a trillion-dollar problem. Machine learning enables development teams to understand the causal links between chemical composition, manufacturing processes and material properties. Coupled with materials information management, this enables maximum value to be extracted from expensively-acquired data. We explore how machine learning can shortcut the traditional trial & improvement process with some use cases in additive manufacturing and creation of a new alloy by using the Ansys Granta MI™ + Intellegens Alchemite™ solutions.
