Digital Transformation in Simulation within the Product Development Process

This keynote explores the evolution of how concepts like simulation democratization, digital thread, optimization, and machine learning are shaping the modern product development process at MANN+HUMMEL. We show the impact of these concepts on our tool landscape used for filter media and filter element development. Using modern data management systems like Ansys Minerva for simulation workflows linked to the corresponding PLM system enables to do so. In the talk the realization at MANN+HUMMEL will be shown. Thereafter, the topics of optimization and machine learning are discussed. A way of creating a user experience to find hidden insights in "data lakes" using the optiSLang Concerthall in complex workflows is presented. Besides the workflow and the model quality also non-technical topics like the user demand for a suited GUI are discussed.
